WHAT IS "NATIONAL CAREER DAYS – GOOD CAREER, GOOD LIFE"?

"National Career Days – Good Career, Good Life" is the largest career forum in Bulgaria. This year the forum will be held for 15th time. The event will take place in seven cities: Sofia, Varna, Veliko Tarnovo, Ruse, Svishtov, Plovdiv and Burgas.

During the forum students can start their professional career path in the most appropriate company for them. What is more, before and during the event they have the opportunity to learn what knowledge, skills and qualities are necessary to realize their full potential.

Before "National Career Days" JobTiger organizes preliminary specialized workshops where students and young professionals will receive advice from specialists about how to apply for a job and to prepare successfully for the forum - how to write a resume and cover letter, to attend an interview, etc.

In 2012, as a student at VTU, I attended “National Career Days”, organized by JobTiger. At the presentation of the forum, I learned priceless advice on what to expect from the event, from the employers, which important steps to follow for a successful job interview. Later on, during the forum, I met a Taxback representative – they had just opened a new office in the city. I applied for the position and I was hired. I am still an employee of Taxback in Veliko Tarnovo, whose office just celebrated its third birthday. (2015)

I found out about Henkel’s internship program at the “National Career Days” forum in the spring of 2010. I was then in my last year of my bachelor education and I was interested in the opportunity to learn about the actual business and not only about the textbook theories. After 5 exceptionally interesting months as an intern, now, two years later, as an Assistant Manager – Key Clients, I have direct contact with the extraordinarily dynamic and provocative world of working with clients. Nestle Bulgaria is a general sponsor of “National career days” for the fourteenth consecutive year.
The traditional partnership between Nestle Bulgaria and “National Career Days” organizer – JobTiger is in unison with Nestle’s principles to create shared value and to engage with socially important initiatives to support young people.
Over the last 19 years Nestle Bulgaria develops a traineeship program, which is of great interest among the candidates, because it allows them a smooth entry into the professional environment at a position, which does not require experience but the right attitude and key competences. The internships give students the opportunity to gain practical knowledge in real working conditions. During the period between 2014 and 2016 within the Nestle needs YOUth initiative, Nestle Bulgaria will provide a job opportunity for 150 young people aged under 30 and will create internship positions and traineeship programs for 180 people at the same age. They will have the opportunity to work on different levels and in different departments of the company – from production and administration to sales, marketing, finances, technology, research and development.

Only in 2014 over 160 young people have found a place in the company, which equals a half of the company’s engagement within 2014-2016. This result comes just one year after the company presented the program Nestle needs YOUth in Bulgaria and got engaged with hiring 330 people under the age of 30 within the period. Over 280 young people have found a place in the company over the past two years of the initiative in Bulgaria.

In 2014, Nestle united efforts with another 200 companies and they all pledged to create over 100 000 new opportunities for young people in Europe in the movement Alliance for Youth. Bulgaria is one of the countries which participate actively in the initiative. Since the end of September 2014 Nestle Bulgaria collaborates with 30 local and international partner companies to promote and support youth employment in the country. Within the Alliance Nestle Bulgaria and its partners in the country have developed a number of joint and individual initiatives and events, which offer young people work experience and training to help them realize the labor market. Over 3,200 young people up to the age of 29 have benefited from job opportunities or training within the initiative "Alliance of Youth" * in Bulgaria from September 2014 to September 2015.
